Uncommitted 1996 | Austin Bruins Forward Jack Murphy
The Uncommitted 1996 series continues, focusing on players aging out of Junior Hockey who have yet to commit to a University or advanced to a higher level of hockey for the 2017-18 season.
Minnesota native Jack Murphy began his Junior Hockey career during his 2013-14 campaign while still in High School, playing 10 games for the Minnesota Magicians. The 6'1 210lb skater went on to play the majority of the 2014-15 season in Canada before returning to America to play 6 games with the Kenai River Brown Bears.
Murphy joined the Minot Minotauros for the 2015-16 season where he would play his first full season in the NAHL, registering 26 points through 55 regular season games. Murphy returned to Minot for the majority of his 2016-17 season, playing 35 games with the team before transferring to the Austin Bruins, where he'd play 18 games to close out the season.
Combined, Murphy registered a point in 26 contests this season, including 8 multi point efforts, 3 game winners and a season high 4 points on October 28, 2016 when he contributed to 4 of the Minotauros 7 goals in an early season victory over the Austin Bruins.
